Healing Through Touch: Creating My Own Definition Of God

Where do you turn to when you’re in pain? Is it a trusted friend, a comfort show, a therapist? Oftentimes growing up, religion was a strong remedy for pain. As I have grown however, I find I have not fit into the Christian setting the way I once did. Through research on my own and others’ religions, spending long hours beading in the studio, and grappling with emotional pain I have been able to begin to answer how religion, specifically Christianity, can positively fit into my life. Religion itself is not defined on the amount of prayer or attendance to church services. God at the end of the day, is a feeling, a mild and sometimes intense feeling. That is ultimately what this project has come to be about.
