This diptych features archival images from the artist's mother's life, featuring lovers and friends and family in ambiguous situations. The work examines the artist's relationship to her mother, as well as the breakdowns in communication that inevitably arise when children attempt to understand their parents. This work accompanies the short film "Can We Talk About David?," a video with handdrawn animation that features an audio track of a conversation between the artist and her mother.
