Undergraduate
Bri Fox combines her work in illustration and printmaking with her interests in fiction and non-fiction, connecting Black pop culture to theory through Wondaland. Fox’s visual work has mainly been of Black subjects. As she’s grown into adulthood, she has asked how would her work look if she combined every aspect of her identity within an illustration, and traced it back to the many Black and Queer writers and theorists who’ve affected the way she’s thought of navigating her life? Welcome to Wondaland! A place where -er turns to -a. A speculative amusement park that presents you with an amalgamation of experiences and theories reflected by Fox’s own life in Detroit. Performance, Love, and Language have so much to do with how we move through our lives. Wondaland gives you an understanding of Blackness and Queerness as an intersectional identity that gives back to self and community.
