Museums, exhibitions, and gallery spaces often have strict rules for how to interact with art. Over time, these rules condition visitors to believe that art is intimidating and not to be touched. By providing a playful, immersive space in a typically serious environment, Playground answers the questions: How can we create interaction in a physical space, and what could that interaction look like within the context of art and design exhibitions? Playground adapts design thinking to artistic expression, with a focus on creating engagement among people, space, and objects. Attendees of the exhibition Impressions are invited to step inside of this space and see, touch, hear, play.
