Harking back to my early training as an abstract expressionist at U-M, I begin my paintings non-objectively, creating exuberant chaos. But being a realist at heart, I always look for images to develop, usually with a light-hearted, whimsical approach which is consistent with my personality. I love discovering and developing these images, frequently of animals and birds. I call them Zooillogicals, and own that trademark.
