In 1968 I started photographing images of the highway and then silk screening them. This image was taken in autumn on my way to spend the day fishing for Smallmouth Bass in Lake Superior. This print is similar to two photographic silkscreen prints I made in 1969: “California Highway #1” http://accessaddison.andover.edu/Obj12088?sid=306&x=8870&sort=9 and “California Highway #128” http://accessaddison.andover.edu/Obj12089?sid=306&x=8872&sort=9
Along with fishing, night driving and creating art rank at the top of my lifetime pleasures list.
