Hedonism

Jean Nardone

Undergraduate
I’m using collage and photography to blur the lines between porn and art while examining the censorship and double standards surrounding sex, particularly for the female body. My goal is to empower people to take control of their sexuality by normalizing it through a collection of sexually explicit photographs and collages. In appropriating content from porn, I expose the language of this industry, which is dominated by the male gaze, to challenge viewers to examine their own relationship with sex and sexual determination. HEDONISM, aims to promote a pro-sex view and encourage viewers to pursue sexual pleasure with a healthy mindset. By questioning the boundaries between art and pornography, I hope to create a space for open dialogue about sexuality and inspire viewers to think critically about their own attitudes toward sex.
