Out For Blood

“Out For Blood” is an animatic serving as the pilot episode for an original fantasy/horror cartoon. It follows two men in the woods being hunted by a mysterious monster, while gradually teasing out a bigger picture. The point of this project is to be an authentic representation of myself, which means it is the intersection between my three most notable passions: narrative-based cartoons, creature-based horror, and representations of men-loving-men. In order to be truly authentic, it also needed to be representative of less favorable aspects of me: the immense insecurities that I struggle with to this day. Each character deals with their own insecurity and struggles with anxiety in their own manner. As I’ve gotten older, it has become more important that my work be reflective of my full self—a self that I haven’t allowed myself to be through most of my life. All of these special interests, passions, and facets of my person overlap and inform each other in ways completely unique to who I am, a person that I intend to proclaim and defend regardless of what others have to say. I’m “Out For Blood”.
