Biography
Faezeh Salamat is an MDes student in Integrative Design at the University of Michigan’s Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design. With a background in Interior Architecture, her practice has evolved from spatial design toward product design and interdisciplinary making. Before beginning her graduate studies, she worked professionally in interior design and later founded Delvan Studio, where she explored sustainable product design by transforming discarded and leftover materials into functional furniture and interior objects. These experiences shaped her interest in material reuse, hands-on experimentation, and design as a way to create new value from existing resources.
She is currently exploring the intersection of design, psychology, human behavior, and interactive technology. Through projects such as the Smart Planning Board, she investigates how tangible and digital design tools might support motivation, self-regulation, and everyday behavioral challenges such as procrastination. She is particularly interested in research-driven, human-centered approaches that combine physical making, behavioral science, and technology, while also considering the broader social and environmental implications of designed products and systems. At Stamps, she hopes to continue exploring and developing meaningful design solutions through interdisciplinary research, prototyping, and user testing.
