T.J. O’Keefe (BFA 2004) was selected by Elle Décor Italia as one of the best discoveries made at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) 2016 in New York City this past May. At ICFF 2016, O’Keefe showcased a new collection of abstract design objects created from iron rods.
ICFF 2016 showcased one of the most talked-about trends emerging in contemporary furniture design today: a focus on design and manufacturing made in the United States. O’Keefe, who produces all of his pieces just outside of Chicago, prides himself in being an American designer who actively promotes and utilizes manufacturing based in the United States. This focus on integrity and efficiency in both design and manufacturing allowed his powerful, minimalist works to stand out among the other talents hosted by ICFF.
