Seth St. Pierre: Wednesdays with Gramps Screening at Detroit Black Film Festival

Wednesdays with Gramps, a new Dreamworks animated film with character design by Seth St. Pierre (BA ​’21), will be screened at the Charles H. Wright Museum on September 25 as part of the Detroit Black Film Festival’s opening night red carpet reception. 

Directed by Chris and Justin Copeland, the short film has received the Audience Choice Award at the SIGGRAPH 2025 Computer Animation Festival and won the Audience Award, Youth Jury Award, and Kids’ Choice Award at the Palm Springs International ShortFest.

St. Pierre designed all of the characters in the film, creating modular designs for background characters to be as cost effective as possible.
