Ruth Weisberg Shares Stories Behind her Artwork

Ruth Weisberg: Of Memory, Time & Place brings together over 25 works that span six decades of the artist’s practice as a painter and printmaker at the Stamps Gallery this summer. Ruth Weisberg (B. Ed 64, MA65) is a distinguished alum of the University of Michigan and a world-renowned artist.

During a recent visit for the exhibition’s opening, Ruth filmed a video reflecting on bringing her work back to her alma mater. The video features Weisberg sharing the stories behind her iconic works from her artistic career, including such pieces as Waterborne, The Shtetl, A Journey and Memorial, and Kindertransport. The artwork is displayed at the Stamps Gallery through July 23, 2022. The pieces featured in the exhibition are generously loaned by Naomi and Ted Harrison, Phyllis and Sheldon Schwartz, and Jack Rutberg Fine Arts.
