Robin Street-Morris exhibits work from coast to coast

This November, audiences in California and Michigan can enjoy work from Stamps alum Robin Street-Morris (BFA 00). Street-Morris will showcase her remarkable work in the 2023/24 Artist Alliance Biennial at the Oceanside Museum of Art in California and the 2023 Earth & Sky” exhibit at Matthaei Botanical Gardens in Michigan.

Street-Morris is a San Diego, California-based visual artist. She works primarily with a mixture of transparent watercolor and powdered soft pastel pigments, which she skillfully layers and blends to achieve an ethereal, atmospheric feel to landscapes. Her photographs are taken with professional equipment and processed in Photoshop. 

Mixed-media paintings by Street-Morris will be on view at the exhibitions. 

2023/24 Artist Alliance Biennial at Oceanside Museum of Art

Street-Morris’s mixed media painting, Crescent Moon with Venus and Offshore Oil and Gas Platforms,” has been selected for inclusion in the prestigious 2023/24 Artist Alliance Biennial at the Oceanside Museum of Art. The exhibition will run from November 18, 2023, through March 312024.

Juror Jonathon Glus, executive director of the San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture, selected the piece. This year’s exhibition saw 1,149 submissions by 303 artists, with 75 artworks selected. 

An exhibition celebration will occur on Saturday, November 18, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Oceanside Museum of Art at 704 Pier View Way in Oceanside, California.

Earth & Sky” exhibit at Matthaei Botanical Gardens

In addition to her showcase in California, Street-Morris is a featured artist at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens. Her mixed media painting, Rising Comet with Morning Star,” has been selected for the 2023 Earth & Sky” exhibit from Friday, November 24, through Saturday, December 30.

In perfect synergy with Aurora,” the horticultural display inside the conservatory, the community art exhibit Earth and Sky” beckons visitors to explore the connection between terrestrial life and our atmosphere.

A highlight of the Michigan exhibition will be the reception on Sunday, December 17, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens, located at 1800 N. Dixboro Rd in Ann Arbor.
