Rachel Jessup: Printmaking Competition First Place
A team of regional judges have selected the work of Rachel Jessup as the First Place Award winner of the Mid-Michigan Chapter of the National Society of Arts & Letters 2013 Art — Printmaking Competition. Created during Fall 2012 term in Exploring Lithography and Relief, ARTDES 335, taught by Professor Endi Poskovic, Rachel’s work in printmedia combine photo-plate lithography with relief and collage.
As the winner of the Michigan Chapter, an award which carries monetary prize, Rachel will compete at the National Level Art Competition to be held May 17 — 19, 2013 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with travel and exhibition expenses paid by the Michigan chapter. She will also participate in a Master Class with other printmakers from all over the United States. The First Place National level award is $15,000.
Rachel Jessup is a M.Arch. graduate student in the Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning.
