Miriam Svidler: ArtPrize 9

Detroit Artist Miriam Svidler (BFA 2011) has been selected by DeVos Place to exhibit Blue Tension, an original mixed media sculpture, at ArtPrize 9.

The piece has been exhibited at Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center and Governor’s Awards for Arts and Culture Gala, and won Michigan Sculptor’s Guild Award and 1st place at Undergraduate Juried Exhibition at University of Michigan School of Art & Design. 

Russian by birth, Miriam Svidler grew up in Israel and has lived in Michigan since 1999. She is a graduate of Cranbrook High School and the University of Michigan Stamps School of Art & Design. 

Trained in fashion, product design, drawing, painting, wood, metal, artwear, and other media. Miriam enjoys creating art with a wide range of materials, both two and three- dimensional.
