Michael Flynn: Pedal-Powered Projector

Visitors to the 2010 Ann Arbor Film Festival will be the power source for the Pedal-Powered Film Projector in the lobby of the Michigan Theater. Created by A&D lecturer Michael Flynn, the projector’s appearance at the Ann Arbor Film Festival from March 24 – 29 is a bonus use of an electric generator that is primarily intended to power different types of lighting to demonstrate energy efficiency and grid-tied net metering of renewable energy. Once it leaves the film festival the pedal powered generator will be used at several UM Earth Day events.
