Michael Borowski Exhibits in New York
Michael Borowski (MFA 2011) has been busy refurbishing old shovels for a new public sculpture, called “Scratching the Surface”. This piece will be part of FIGMENT’s summer-long, interactive sculpture garden on Governor’s Island in New York. The sculpture garden will be open, and free to the public, from June 8th through September 22nd. There will be an opening reception on June 8th and 9th from 10AM — 6PM. Governor’s Island is a short ferry ride from lower Manhattan and Brooklyn. Meanwhile, at the Invisible Dog Art Center in Brooklyn, the exhibition “Facts and Fictions” will include a photograph of Michael’s piece “Toothbrush”. The works included in this show explore fiction, narrative, and the tension between truth and reality. It will run from June 1st through the 8th, with a reception o June 1st from 6 – 10PM. The Invisible Dog is located at 47 Bergen St. in Boerum Hill.
