Pr uofm1 lg

Michael Borowski’s (MFA 2011) work will be included in the 7th annual Art in Odd Places Festival. The festival presents visual and performance art in public spaces along 14th Street in Manhattan, NYC from Avenue C to the Hudson River. It will take place from October 1st through the 10th. Art in Odd Places (AiOP) aims to present art that stretches the boundaries of communication in the public realm by presenting artworks in all disciplines outside the confines of traditional public space regulations. AiOP reminds us that public spaces function as the epicenter for diverse social interactions and the unfettered exchange of ideas. The selected projects are informed by various interpretations of the term Ritual”. Borowski’s device Wash/Closely” brings the domestic rituals surrounding the bathroom sink into a public, and shared context. AiOP: 2011 is guest curated by Kalia Brooks, MoCADA Director of Exhibitions and Trinidad Fombella, El Museo Del Barrio Exhibitions Manager/Assistant Curator. Festival Producer, Lucia Warck Meister. Founder/Director, Ed Woodham.
