Matt Kenyon Shows Artwork at Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts

A&D Associate Professor Matt Kenyon’s work is featured in ​“Transceiver”, an exhibition where works are sent by all but the traditional means that an exhibition is shipped. Instead, artists from across the US and abroad are being asked to send work via non-standard means including chat, Skype, email, FTP, streaming audio, radio, Twitter, telegram, and Bluetooth. These works, which may also integrate their means of transmission into their structure and content, suggest a non-geographically-centered model. Instead, they suggest that curators and institutions need not rely on their location and budget to mount expansive international shows that challenge traditional structures of what an exhibition and gallery can be.
