Laura Mott is the Curator of Contemporary Art and Design at Cranbrook Art Museum. Previously, she has held various curatorial positions at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden, Gothenburg Konsthall, IASPIS in Stockholm, Mission 17 in San Francisco, and The Whitney Museum of American Art in New York. She received her M.A. in Curatorial Studies at Bard College and has a BFA/BA dual degree in Art History and Fine Art from the University of Texas. She was a Visiting Lecturer at Valand Academy at the University of Gothenburg from 2009 – 2013, and has taught seminars at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Moscow, Domens Art Academy in Sweden and The Academy of Fine Art in Prague.
