Jennifer Metsker reads poetry at panel on bipolar disorder

Stamps Lecturer and Writing Coordinator Jennifer Metsker will take part in an evening of poetry and discussions around mental health on Thursday, May 11 from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at the Pittsfield Branch of the Ann Arbor District Library. 

Metsker and Ellen Stone will read poetry, followed by a panel discussion and Q&A on the latest research on bipolar disorder.

Come out to a poetry reading by Jennifer Metsker and Ellen Stone. Both local poets write about their experiences with bipolar disorder from different perspectives, addressing the stigma and the trauma related to living life with a mental illness as well as caring for those with a mental illness. Following the poetry reading, Michigan Medicine’s Heinz C. Prechter Bipolar Research Program will host a Q & A with the audience about bipolar disorder and research advances in the field.
