Ian Matchett opens first solo show "Comrades" in Detroit
Stamps alum Ian Matchett (BFA ’14) opened his first solo show, “Comrades” in Detroit on September 2 at 27th Letter Books in Detroit. The show features works that reflect on the experience and humanity of revolutionaries of the past and present, including portraits of local Detroit leaders, such as Marian Kramer.
He hosted an artist talk as part of the show to discuss his art, the role of cultural organizing in social change, and his work as Director of Swords Into Plowshares Peace Center and Gallery in downtown Detroit.
“Comrades” is on display through October 31, 2023.
