HalloWEEK schedule of events

HalloWEEK is a weeklong series of festive activities designed to unite the Stamps community in creativity and fun. This year, HalloWEEK will begin on Friday, October 24 and culminate with a schoolwide party from 1 – 3:30 p.m. on Friday, October 31, where Stamps people are invited to bring their families to take part in the festivities.

Gouge-a-Gourd and Spell & Swatch: The Garden Spirits Project

Friday, October 24

Kick off HalloWEEK with Gouge-a-Gourd and Spell & Swatch: The Garden Spirits Project on Friday, October 24. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to stop by the courtyard on the second floor to sculpt seasonal gourds from noon to 3 p.m. Snacks and materials will be provided! Plus, the Spell & Swatch: The Garden Spirits Project combines our plant-based watercolor process with a community art collaboration, inviting you to explore the magic of color, creativity, and nature in a Halloween-inspired, hands-on experience. Participants will use our handmade natural watercolors — created from plants grown in the Garden, including cosmos, marigold, Japanese indigo, and more — to paint their own color spell,” a small brushstroke or design representing their personal energy or spirit.

Decorating Spaces

Starting Monday, October 27, everyone is invited to decorate Aikens Commons, which will act as our main event space throughout the week. Decorating supplies will be available in Room 2055e (Main Stamps Office) and Aikens Commons (Room 1430) all week. When decorating, please keep in mind the following guidelines:

  • All decorations must be easily removable
  • Use paper to cover surfaces whenever possible
  • Use painter’s tape as your primary adhesive
  • Be mindful of safety and accessibility
  • Avoid hanging anything from the ceiling
