Stamps alumna Gabriella Boros (BFA ’83) is the 2020 artist-in-residence at Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest, where they are celebrating their 40th anniversary of Bernheim’s Artist in Residence program. As part of her residency, she has created ten banners printed from hand-carved woodcuts, which became the FEMMEnomenal Bluegrass Botanicals project. This outdoor art installation at Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest celebrates Kentucky women and native plants. Each banner shows an image of a Kentucky woman of note, paired with a native Kentucky plant that Boros felt best represented the woman and her accomplishments.
Boros also participated in a conversation about the project with Bernheim, which can be viewed here.
