Stamps alumni Eric Bensen (BFA 98) will present at a Spring Design Community Meeting with AIGA Dallas Fort Worth on Thursday, Apr 1, 2021 at 6:30 pm CST / 7:30 pm EST. Free and open to the public, this event is an opportunity to connect with other designers and gain valuable insights on the changing face of design.

Eric Benson is an Associate Professor of Graphic Design at the University of Illinois where he researches design utopias and dystopias. He was awarded a BFA in Graphic & Industrial Design from the University of Michigan and an MFA in Design from the University of Texas. Between those degrees, Eric worked in UI/UX, branding, and print design. His thesis at the University of Texas became the sustainable design resource for the nonprofit www.re-nourish.org. His research led him to co-found Fresh Press Agri-Fiber Paper Lab in 2012 to explore the viability of sustainable local plant fibers in paper and packaging. Benson has published and lectured internationally on the importance of sustainable design, and his work has garnered numerous design awards and been seen in venues including The Walker Art Center, Smithsonian Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum, Hammer Museum, Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, and RISD.
