Emilia Yang: Exhibition and Talk at Artivistas Gallery in Paris
Work by Stamps Assistant Professor Emilia Yang is featured in Futurismos Latinos, a group exhibition at Artivistas Gallery in Paris, opening May 21. As part of the exhibition programming, Yang will also present a talk titled “Art and Community Archives for the Future in Nicaragua and Central America” on May 23.
Futurismos Latinos brings together artists exploring contemporary Latin American imaginaries and forward-looking cultural narratives. Through her participation in the exhibition and accompanying public talk, Yang will highlight the role of artistic practice and community-led archives in shaping collective memory and future-making in Nicaragua and across Central America.
Artivistas is a socially engaged Latin American art gallery founded by Paula Forteza in 2023. The Latin American artists Artivistas collaborates with are advocates for many of the vital causes of our time, including ecology, feminism, democracy, social rights, and the fight against all forms of discrimination.
