Ellen Wetmore Appointed Art and Design Chair at UMass Lowell

Stamps alumna Ellen Wetmore (BFA ​’94) has recently been promoted to full professor at UMass Lowell. She has also been appointed as chair of the Art and Design Department. 

Wetmore ​“is a fine scholar and creative artist, an impassioned teacher, and has been unstinting in sharing her leadership abilities with others, both in her college and across the university.’‘

Wetmore has received several artists’ fellowships, residencies, and grants over the years. Sculpture, video, and drawings are her primary media. Her video projects have been featured in screenings across the globe, most notably the Sandwell Arts Trust in the West Midlands, UK, Ciné Lumière in London, the Dorsky Gallery in Long Island, NY, CologneOff, Cologne, Germany, Videoholica in Bulgaria, and the MIA screen in Cairo.
