Detroit Public Television and Penny Stamps Speaker Series Announce Partnership

Dptv

While our typical gathering spaces are closed during the current health crisis, DPTV and the Penny Stamps Series have collaborated to make staying at home an entertaining and educational experience — bringing unifying and catalyzing programs to our greater community.

In addition to the new online only programs currently being created by the Penny Stamps Series, Detroit Public Television and the Penny Stamps Speaker Series will kick off a new partnership to offer programs from the Penny Stamps Speaker Series archive. We begin by offering a look back at some of our favorite events and speakers that truly engage the greater community. This archive programming will kick off this Friday, April 3 at 8pm with a special livestream of the Congressman John Lewis event from November 2017, when he was joined on the stage at Hill Auditorium by co-author Andrew Aydin and graphic novelist Nate Powell, to present the Congressman’s life story through the award winning graphic novel trilogy MARCH.

DPTV will host the entire Penny Stamps Speakers Series archive at DPTV.org/arts and offer it to all of its affiliate stations, libraries, universities, and key stakeholders.

The upcoming Fridays at 8pm livestream schedule includes:

April 3 – Congressman John Lewis
April 10 – Filmmaker Ken Burns
April 17 – Art collective Pussy Riot
