Cynthia Greig: “Nature Morte” in Amsterdam
Cynthia Greig’s (MFA ‘95) new color photographs, Nature Morte, will be presented in a solo exhibition at Witzenhausen Gallery in Amsterdam from November 13 — December 11, 2010. For this new body of work, she explores how time transforms matter, and its potential to reveal what is hidden beneath the surface. Paying homage to the tradition of Dutch still life painting, her single and sequential images reexamine the nature of materiality and transience, consumption and decay, life and death, art and life through the intersection of photography and drawing. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, November 13 from 5 — 7 pm.
