The Stamps School is a proud sponsor of the film première for Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, a Sony Pictures 2017 holiday blockbuster film based on the book by Caldecott Award-winning author and Stamps alum Chris Van Allsburg (BFA ’72). Benefitting Jo Elyn Nyman Anchors Programs for Children – the film will be simultaneously screened in Ann Arbor’s Michigan Theater and Grand Rapids’ Celebration! Cinema North on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 7 pm on the eve of the film’s nation-wide public release.
Nicola’s Books in Ann Arbor will be hosting a ticketed book signing on Monday, December 18 at 6:30 pm in conjunction with the première.
Dating back to the highly successful movie premieres of The Polar Express in 2004 and Zathura in 2005 – which raised more than $1.5 M for end-of-life pediatric care – Mr. Van Allsburg has generously shared his talents to benefit our community’s youngest residents. This statewide première is yet another example of his continued commitment to shine a light on the important care provided to terminally and chronically ill pediatric patients and their families within the Anchors Programs for Children.
