Cathy Van Voorhis: Nature and Art as a Healing Presence

Work by Stamps Lecturer Cathy Van Voorhis (MFA 1986), often involving the healing power of nature, will be on view in several area medical facilities in the coming months.

VanVoorhis’ work is currently hanging in the Clay Street Center, a care facility for adults with memory loss, in Greenville, Michigan. This summer, her paintings will be exhibited in the University of Michigan Hospital’s Comprehensive Cancer Center (Gallery 2D), as part of the Hospital’s Gifts of Art program. In the fall, four of her oil paintings will be installed in the newly renovated Cancer Center at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
