Carol Jacobsen: Visiting Artist at Yale

Carol Jacobsen, Stamps professor, artist, writer and political organizer who serves as Director of the Michigan Women’s Justice & Clemency Project, will be a Visiting Artist at Yale University April 5 – 7, 2016. Her public lecture addresses contemporary issues of women’s criminalization as well as strategies of resistance and hope for freedom and human rights of incarcerated women. Her presentation will include film clips from Jacobsen’s films narrated by women prisoners, nine of whom have been freed from life sentences through the efforts of the Michigan Women’s Justice & Clemency Project.
