Award-winning authors and artists Erin and Philip C. Stead will meet with students in the Integrative Project Course on Tuesday, March 11 from 10 – 11am. Erin is the illustrator and Philip the author of the Caldecott Medal winning book A Sick Day for Amos McGee, also named a New York Times Best Illustrated Book of 2010 and a Publishers Weekly Best Children’s Book of 2010. The pair also co-created A Sick Day for Amos McGee and Bear Has a Story to Tell, which was named a Best Children’s Book of 2012 by Kirkus Reviews. The artists live in Ann Arbor, Michigan where Philip earned his BFA from the Stamps School of Art & Design in 2003. The Steads will share their creative work, career experiences, and publishing insights with our IP students as they gear up for their BFA thesis shows and begin to think about how they’ll find a place for doing what they love in the world.
