Aaron Turner: Solo Exhibition at PhotoNOLA

Fazende BA 015 1

Archive, Legacy & Empathy: Remembering Fazendeville, a new solo exhibition by Stamps Assistant Professor Aaron Turner, will be on view at UNO St. Claude Gallery in New Orleans from December 13, 2025 — January 4, 2026. The exhibition is part of the 20th annual PhotoNOLA Festival of photography, a celebration of photography that takes place during the month of December throughout the city and features exhibitions, artist talks and workshops.

The University of New Orleans U.N.O. St Claude Gallery is proud to present a solo exhibition by Artist Aaron R. Turner that explores the linear movement of light, desire, and time. In the pursuit of abstraction to create speculative narratives, Turner uses various photographic techniques and processes, including reflective and archival materials, and in-camera and darkroom manipulation.

This exhibition combines works from multiple series within and outside of the Black Alchemy series, including Black Alchemy: Remembering Fazendeville and is a non-representational response to and visual analysis of objective and subjective ideas in photography as it relates to the individual lived experience of everyday life and internal contemplations.
