Stamps Gallery will be closed for exhibition changes and holiday observance until January 16, 2025.

Established with the generous support of alumna Penny W. Stamps (19442018), Stamps Gallery is a dynamic center for contemporary art and design located in downtown Ann Arbor.

Parking

Street Parking: Metered Parking Public, metered street parking is available on the streets surrounding Stamps Gallery. Meters are free on Sundays and after 6:00 pm during the weekdays. Credit cards and cash accepted.

Public Parking Structures: The Liberty Square Parking Structure (Tally Hall) is located directly around the corner from the Stamps Gallery, at 510 East Washington Street. The Maynard Street Parking Structure, located at 324 Maynard Street near the Michigan Theater, is a five-minute walk from the gallery. These structures are open to the public (no permit required). Credit cards and cash accepted.

University of Michigan Parking: The Thayer Street Parking Structure is the closest U‑M parking area. There is also a parking lot on the east side of Thompson Street just past E. William Street, and the Thompson Street Parking Structure is further south on the right. Blue or gold U‑M parking permits are required for these lots/​structures.


Driving Directions
From the North (Flint, Saginaw)

Take US-23 South to Exit 45, merging onto M‑14 W/US-23 BUS S toward Ann Arbor. Take Exit 3 (Main St). Continue on N. Main St, then turn left onto Depot St. Turn right onto N. 5th Avenue, then left onto E. Liberty Street, then left onto S. Division St. The gallery will be on your right.

From the South (Toledo)

Take US-23 North to I‑94 West. From I‑94, take Exit 177 (State Street). Turn right off the exit onto State Street. Go approximately 2.2 miles, then turn left onto E. Hoover Ave. Turn right onto S. Division St. The gallery will be on your right in about .7 miles.

From the West (Chicago, Kalamazoo, Jackson)

Take I‑94 East to Exit 172 (Jackson Avenue). Keep right to continue on Jackson Avenue for 1.5 miles, then continue onto W. Huron Street for 1 mile. Turn right onto S. 5th Avenue, then left onto E. Liberty Street, then left onto S. Division St. The gallery will be on your right.

From the East (Windsor, Detroit, Airports)

Take I‑94 West to Exit 177 (State Street). Turn right off the exit onto State Street. Go approximately 2.2 miles, then turn left onto E. Hoover Ave. Turn right onto S. Division St. The gallery will be on your right in about .7 miles.


Public Transportation

Blake Transit Center, Ann Arbor’s central Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority (AATA) bus station, is a 5 – 10 minute walk from Stamps Gallery. Please check AATA schedules and and routes on The Ride.

Commuter South and Diag to Diag Express are the most direct University of Michigan bus routes from North Campus to Stamps Gallery. Check U‑M bus schedules here.
