Join us on Friday, October 16 from 6 – 8 p.m. for the opening receptions of Fore-Site (Phase 3): The Stamps Gallery Pillar Project and Reverie: The Student-led Exhibition Committee Fall 2026 Exhibition at Stamps Gallery.

A reverie is a state between waking and dreaming, a moment when the mind drifts beyond the immediate. It is a space where memory, imagination, desire, and reality can overlap, distort, and take on new forms. In these moments, the familiar can become strange, and the ordinary can become something unexpected.

Reverie brings together student works that explore the space between what is known and what is felt. Across painting, oil pastel, ceramic, digital art, animation, and mixed media, the artists move through imagined landscapes, intimate encounters, memories, figures, and fragments of the everyday. These works blur the boundaries between observation and imagination, allowing emotion and perception to reshape what we recognize.

Rather than depicting dreams literally, Reverie considers dreaming as a way of seeing. The works reflect moments of escape, introspection, fantasy, and transformation, where the subconscious can surface and reality becomes open to interpretation.

Reverie was conceived and curated by members of the Student-led Exhibition Committee (SEC) and features work by eight SEC members at the Stamps School of Art & Design. The exhibition includes ten works across oil on canvas, oil pastel, ceramic, digital art, digital animation, and mixed media.
