Detroit Connections is a program of the University of Michigan Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design that brings students, staff, faculty, and alumni into Detroit schools and communities to lead art workshops and design collaborative projects with youth. Promoting engaged and active citizenry and requiring out-of-the-box creative thinking, Detroit Connections brings together individuals from a variety of different backgrounds to co-create and share resources. AIRPLANE BANANA-BOAT ROLLER COASTER features a smattering of playful and experimental projects — from imaginative drawing and photo essays to autobiographical audio stories and entrepreneurial ventures — developed with youth and school teachers over the past year.
