Description: Embodied Interfaces explores the human body as an expressive controller for interactive media. Using accessible, open-source body-tracking tools, students learn to capture real-time motion data and apply it to dynamic performance and installation works. In a hands-on format that combines workshops, lectures, and creative projects, students experiment with machine learning, interactive video, sound, and lighting. By engaging with simple webcam-based body tracking, they gain a low-cost, creative approach to turning human motion into compelling audiovisual outputs. The course culminates in collaborative projects and interactive installations, equipping students with both technical and conceptual frameworks to expand possibilities in performance, media art, and design.Frequency: This course is typically offered in either the fall or winter term of every academic year, though scheduling may vary according to future term circumstances.
