Christopher Karounos is seeking a lead graphic designer for a social venture to direct both video game art as well as logo and advertising design. Help us create a Video Game That Will Protect Tropical Forest!

Office Assistant for Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design, Dean’s Office

Preferred candidates must have strong oral and written communication skills, the ability to exercise good judgment, and work independently while maintaining composure in high-stress, service-oriented office setting. Candidates with previous face-to-face customer service experience a plus. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications, with good knowledge of MS Excel and Google calendar a plus. Duties include basic office support (filing, multi-line telephone system, appointment-setting, courier, etc.), as well as some event planning and setup.

Freelance Re-Design of Game Cabinet

The staffs of the EECS 494: Introduction to Game Development course and the Wolverine Soft game development organization are seeking an artist (or artists) to redesign the exterior of an arcade cabinet. This arcade cabinet will play student-created video games and enjoy high-visibility in the Bob and Betty Beyster Building on North Campus.

The arcade cabinet is based on the classic arcade game “Berserk”, and presently looks like this. It has been retrofitted with modern game controllers and a more powerful internal computer. We would like the cabinet to be more UMich / game development themed.

Part of the job will involve you helping to determine funding for the exterior aesthetics (printing costs, artist labor, etc). This will require light consultation and sketch concept-work.

Insitu | Center for Socially Engaged Design in the UM College of Engineering is seeking a designer/videographer with experience in video production, editing, and digital animation for the development of 2 videos of approximately 2-3 minutes long that showcase and explain a new on-line learning platform, The Socially Engaged Design Academy.

Graphic Designer -­ Citizen Interaction Design University of Michigan School of Information

As part of Citizen Interaction Design (CID), the University of Michigan School of Information engages with local municipalities to educate students through the creation of information tools that revolutionize how citizens engagement with their City.

CID graduate courses engage teams of students to work with specific City departments and non-profits to create, design, build, and implement information tools that meet the goals of the course and the City needs.  There are two courses that occur in the 2016-2017 academic year (Mastery Course, September-December, Design Studio, January - April); the goal is to have several working information tools that can be implemented by the end of November and the end of March.

UMSI is interested in contracting professional graphic designers to work with the UMSI students to design interfaces, brochures, posters, postcards, and other products being created as part of these courses.

Part Time Graphic Designer, Part Time Photographer for the Stamps School

The Graphic Design Part Time Employee will be responsible for designing deadline-driven, brand-compliant projects for the Stamps Communications & Marketing Team. These projects will range from paid print advertisements to event signage. It is imperative that this part time employee is highly proficient with InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat and is able to work independently while adhering to style guidelines to maintain a unified brand identity.

The Stamps School of Art & Design seeks a photographer to document the following for use in school publications, presentations, website, social media campaigns, and for archival purposes:

-exhibition receptions
-school events
-classroom activities
-donor / alumni interactions
-studio activities
-events related to the Brightmoor Maker Space / Stamps School Detroit Connections program
-penny stamps speaker series

Hours will be sporadic throughout the semester, concentrated more heavily in the middle and end of each term as projects reach a photogenic heights. Photographers are expected to deliver final photos via Mbox within a two week turn-around time. Good interpersonal communication is required, as subjects need to feel comfortable and job assignments / specifications come from the Stamps Director of Communications & Marketing primarily thorough email / text message / phone calls.

MOCAD Curatorial Fellowship

Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD) is seeking applicants for its 2017 Curatorial Fellowship.

This year-long fellowship supports our goal to encourage greater involvement from the diverse and energetic art scene that surrounds MOCAD. This prestigious fellowship provides curatorial training and an opportunity for the fellow to engage with a community of scholars, artists, writers, and thinkers from around the world. The fellow is fully integrated into one of the Museum’s curatorial and education departments, while devoting his or her time to a specific MOCAD project as well as other experiences. The individual works directly with one or more curators, who serve as supervisors and mentors throughout the term of the fellowship.

The Curatorial Fellowship provides recent graduates and graduate students working on a higher degree in the field with important professional experience. MOCAD is committed to being an inclusive workplace. We welcome applications from minority group members, women, and persons with disabilities, members of sexual minority groups and others who may contribute to further diversification of ideas.

This 12-month fellowship will start on January 1, 2017 and continue through December 31, 2017.

Logo Design

Entrepreneur seeks logo designer.  The main focus is the font and striking the right classic/antique/luxury feel for the logo.
