Freelance Art Opportunity with Sneakers by Jordana

Sneakers by Jordana is a line of custom and themed sneakers designed personally for each customer. Our custom shoes are one of a kind and unique, and each design is thought out and hand crafted specifically for the customer. We connect with our customers to understand who they are and what they are thinking so we can create a sneaker that brings their ideas to life.

We are looking for part-time artists who will be living in New York City this summer with advanced drawing skills that can help draw and color our designs.  We pay by the shoe and prices will be negotiated with each artist. Part Time Designer Needed

Quack Media is seeking a part time designer with the potential to grow into full-time.

We are looking for a production designer to help us out for about 15 hours a week (some weeks closer to 20 hours, maybe more if we get even busier). The position is in-house and would involve laying out or resizing ads, editing or searching for photos, laying out RFPs in InDesign, etc.

Pay is $10 an hour and we are seeking a recent graduate or rising senior. We need this person to start ASAP

Color and Materials Designer for Ford

Color and Materials Designers are tasked with setting the vision for the development and coordination of interior and exterior color and materials design for Ford and Lincoln vehicle programs.  Designers follow the development of color and materials from concept through approval and must coordinate the release of master samples.  Designers are expected to be able to evaluate color, texture, gloss and finishes and work with suppliers as necessary.  Designers are required to maintain an awareness of developments in related fields, i.e. furniture, fashion, architecture design, and apply that knowledge to automotive design.  Color and Materials Designer candidates must provide a portfolio that demonstrates creativity, a strong understanding of colors and materials, design and trend leadership, brand awareness, production experience, and multi-tasking ability.

The ideal candidate will possess a sense of adventure and creativity with a sophisticated understanding of art, design, and gallery curatorial principals and practices. He/She would conduct original research, negotiate with artists, develop and present new exhibitions and projects, supervise, install, light and all related duties including maintenance such as ensuring that all walls are repaired. Produce publicity for Gallery exhibits with marketing. Represent the Gallery at public, and cultivation events in order to build bridges between the gallery and other art entities in the Great Lakes Bay Region.

There’s a 500,000-gallon steel water tower in Ann Arbor that needs a fresh coat of paint, and the city has decided to make it into a public art contest.

The city is now calling on artists and students to submit ideas for “art in the sky” that could be chosen to adorn the water tower off Washtenaw Avenue.

The contest is free to enter and open to Ann Arbor residents and students living in Ann Arbor. The deadline to enter is June 1.

The winner will receive $500 and will have his or her design placed 150 feet in the air for all to see.

Advertising Design Intern, Product Development Intern

Costume Designer for Into the Woods

MUSKET, Michigan’s student-run musical theatre organization, is searching for a costume designer for INTO THE WOODS.  The show will be performed March 27-29, 2015, in the Power Center for the Performing Arts.

MUSKET is a great opportunity to design for a fully realized musical in a 1300 seat theatre. The designer will receive an extensive budget.

About INTO THE WOODS: The story follows a Baker and his wife who wish to have a child, Cinderella who wishes to attend the King’s Festival, and Jack who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone’s wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.
