Illustrator, author and designer Maira Kalman is renowned for her unique commentaries on politics and contemporary life. A frequent contributor to The New Yorker Magazine, Kalman also wrote the illustrated blogs “The Principles of Uncertainty” and “The Pursuit of Happiness” for The New York Times.
Kalman’s books include My Favorite Things, Ah-Ha To Zig-Zag, Fireboat: The Heroic Adventures of the John J. Harvey, 13 WORDS, a collaboration with Lemony Snicket, Why We Broke Up, with Daniel Handler, Looking at Lincoln, and Thomas Jefferson: Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Everything. Kalman has also designed clocks, umbrellas, and other accessories for the Museum of Modern Art, fabric for Isaac Mizrahi, accessories for Kate Spade, and sets for the Mark Morris Dance Company.
