VISUALIZING DATA: The Art of Information
Curated by Jeanne Hunter-Moore
Work: Detroit
Exhibition Dates: March 14 — April 252014
Opening reception: Friday, March 14, 6 – 9 PM

How does one visualize the inner workings of the body, the percentage of people in poverty or perhaps, the weather patterns during a particular season? Information graphics allow us to visualize material that is less discernable with the written word. Pictorial interpretation of data however, is not confined to the graphic arts: fine artists also utilize their medium to make sense of facts and figures. VISUALIZING DATA will exhibit artistic interpretation of signs, symbols and statistical data.
