Sarah is a social worker, program developer, and advocate for quality and equity in health and education services. She comes to the MDes Program at Stamps after specializing in children’s mental health in the school and family contexts. Working within the complicated education, healthcare, housing, and child welfare systems, Sarah provided services in case management, advocacy, psychotherapy, consulting, and training. Through these experiences, Sarah recognized the urgent need to re-imagine individual and community services for more equitable and sustainable outcomes.
Most recently, Sarah was the School Mental Health Training Coordinator for New York City’s Office of School Health where she developed and implemented training and professional development programs across the city for public school staff, students, and families. By infusing materials and content with trauma-informed and racial equity lenses, Sarah sought to strengthen systems of support for students in schools and in the community.
