Biography
Curriculum Vitae- BFA, Studio Art, Central Michigan University
My name is Peter Stack and I use He/Him/They/Them pronouns. I was born and raised in Michigan and have lived there all of my life except for several years I spent living on the Navajo (Diné) Indian reservation in Arizona.
I started making art in highschool, and since then I have been using art as a form of self expression and therapy. I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts from Central Michigan University in 2015. After graduating, I worked as an art teacher, staff manager, and residence hall assistant at Interlochen Center for the Arts. In 2020 I decided to pursue earning an MFA from the University of Michigan.
Most of my work is focused on concept and material. I often make work that expresses my queer identify and challenges viewers to question their social norms. I am also very interested in exploring the intersection of art, technology, and social media. I strive to answer the question of how artist can survive and thrive in a constantly evolving online landscape.
