Curriculum Vitae
  • BFA, College for Creative Studies

Kristina Sheufelt is a multidisciplinary visual artist from Detroit, Michigan. She earned her BFA in Fine Arts from the College for Creative Studies in 2013, graduating with high honors. Her artistic practice is centered around the study of relationships between nature and culture, focusing on the ways in which humanity affects and interacts with the natural environment as well as the ways in which we map, categorize, and quantify these interactions.

Working primarily in mixed-media sculpture and installation, Kristina uses her work to investigate such issues as consumer culture, climate change, and the ecological impacts of art-making. Informing her practice are a variety of self-directed environmental studies, including experimental gardening, beekeeping, and the cataloguing and identifying of plant and animal species around the city of Detroit. In 2018 she presided as artist in residence at the Padre Island National Seashore off the coast of southern Texas, working through the National Parks AIR program to study environmental conditions on the Gulf coast.
