Graduate Student, MDes Program
- B.S., Product Design, Stanford University
Kayla Guillory is a product designer, human-centered researcher, and user experience professional. She graduated from Stanford University with a B.S. in Product Design and received the Robert H. McKim Award for Excellence in the design program. Kayla is most interested in how to combine community-led design, product design, and service design to develop sustainable, ethical processes.
Using empathy as a guide, she seeks experiences where she can bring her expertise in design thinking and research insights to meaningful work. While in the healthcare industry, Kayla was involved in hundreds of interviews with patients, physicians, and staff members. Based on her work, she has developed many frameworks to better understand people, their goals, and how they prioritize their lives. She plans to use this foundation to untangle systems that are meant to serve the public interest but often become frustrating and complex.
Outside of work, Kayla enjoys crafting custom greeting cards, trying new hobbies, and striving for the perfect charcuterie board. Kayla is committed to social and environmental justice as well as furthering the design community’s awareness of intersectionality in design.
