Biography

Masimba received a national Diploma in Fine Art at Harare Polytechnic in Zimbabwe. He has a certificate in Building on Indigenous knowledge systems for development from Coady International Institute, St Francis Xavier University. He has exhibited works extensively in Southern Africa and Europe, and has taught sculpture and drawing at the Harare Polytechnic in Zimbabwe. His work is in the permanent Collection of the National Gallery of Zimbabwe and is other private collections in Germany, United Kingdom, Australia, France, and The United States of America. His work has been shown and received reviews at several Art fairs from South Africa, London to Brussels.

He has shown at the Zimbabwe Pavilion at the 56th Edition of the Venice Biennale, and was a winner of the Capetown Art fair Today is Tomorrow Award. Working between Zimbabwe and South Africa, he has collaborated on performance and research projects in the region, and is an Honorary Research fellow at Rhodes University in Grahamstown, South Africa. His interests span from research to using creative practice in Development. He has been involved in Research and Collaboration projects In communities between Harare and Detroit for many years through the Zimbabwe Cultural Center of Detroit.
