Akhila Kosaraju is an Architect, User Interface designer and a graphic design specialist. She graduated with a B.Arch from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur with an Insititute Silver Medal for being at the top of her class. She was the first female architecture student to receive the B.C.Roy Gold medal for being the best all-rounder of the entire undergraduate graduating batch of 2019 at IIT Kharagpur.
Prior to joining the MDes program, she worked as a Licensed Project Architect at Bhumiputra Architecture on multi-scale projects from high-impact low-cost interventions like bus stops, school renovations, and playgrounds, to sustainable luxury apartments and urban redevelopment projects. She co-founded What if Design, a digital design agency that helps innovators and entreprenuers build digital products and boost their branding. Akhila is deeply interested in making an impact in environmental justice by leveraging technology and understanding design from a systems thinking perspective.
Akhila enjoys experimenting with cooking and playing table tennis. She also picked up hula hooping and rollerblading over the past year and is always trying out new hobbies to pick up and places to visit.
