Two graduate students from the Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design — Laura Magnusson (MFA 19) and Rowan Renee (MFA 19) — are recipients of the 2018 – 2019 Elsie Choy Lee Scholarships, presented at a campus awards ceremony on Sunday, September 232019

The Elsie Choy Lee Scholarship — granted by CEW+ at the University of Michigan — assists undergraduate and graduate students pursuing their own work in art, writing, or music. It is also given to students researching creative women who have struggled to find their own voices within these fields.

CEW+ empowers women and underserved individuals in the University of Michigan and surrounding communities by serving as an advocate and providing resources to help them reach their academic, financial, and professional potential. CEW+ Scholarships are most often applied towards tuition, living expenses, and childcare.
