The Homeless Man I Pass on My Way to Class
Part of the series Small Gestures, The Homeless Man I Pass on My Way to Class is a portrait of a man who Greenhill frequently passed on a daily basis. The series Small Gestures is about spreading positivity and combating loneliness by simply saying hello to a stranger. The series of final paintings represent a personal self-reflection about acknowledging and appreciating people who are typically overlooked in Greenhill’s day-to-day life. Simply, the small gesture of saying hello to someone can be enough to make their day, your day, or even start a new friendship.
This work is featured in the 2020 Undergraduate Juried Exhibition, on view online from November 13 – December 4, 2020.
